Welcome to SALT – A Radically Inclusive United Methodist Community in Wilmington, NC
At SALT United Methodist Community, we believe in radical love, full inclusion, and transformative faith. Located in the Monkey Junction area of Wilmington, NC, we are a Lighthouse Congregation and a Reconciling Church, committed to embracing diversity, social justice, and spiritual growth.
A Church Without Walls – Open to All
At SALT, we celebrate people of all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. Whether you’re a lifelong Christian, exploring your faith, or seeking a safe, affirming community, you belong here. We don’t just welcome you—we celebrate you just as you are.
Faith in Action: Serving and Loving Together

SALT is deeply committed to creation care, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and social justice. Led by Rev. Gayle Tabor, we put faith into action through: Hands and Feet Sundays – Serving the community at Willowdale Urban Farm, and Cleaning the Roadways
Environmental Stewardship – Caring for God’s creation and advocating for sustainability, especially in the SALT Garden and through composting
LGBTQ+ Advocacy – Standing for love, equality, and full inclusion in the church
Community Outreach – Worship, small groups, and hands-on service to make a real impact
A Place to Belong
At SALT, faith is a journey, not a destination. We are people seeking to know God, love others, and grow spiritually. If we had to give SALT an acronym, it would be “Serving And Loving Together”—because that’s who we are.
