SALT is an inclusive Methodist community in Wilmington NC (Monkey Junction Area). We are a United Methodist Church (a lighthouse congregation and a reconciling church).
We are dedicated to caring for God’s creation. That means caring for the earth and all of its inhabitants. For us, this is about community and how we care for each other, and about how we care for all God has created.
While SALT is not an acronym, if we were going to make it one, it would mean Serving And Loving Together, because that is who we are and how we want to live.
SALT believes that all of humanity is created in the image of God, therefore we do not draw lines around who is welcome.
We welcome families of every size including families of one. We welcome people who are unsheltered and millionaires. We welcome those that think they have it all figured out and those that don’t even know if they believe in God. We welcome those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, straight and every variation of sexual orientation or leaning, even if you don’t know what category you fall under.
We welcome young and old, the tattooed and pierced, people of any and all colors of skin, and hair color. If you have gauges or implants of any kind, you have a home with us.
If we didn’t cover you in the above, know you are welcome too because we think that is how Jesus rolled and we are trying to be like him. It really is that simple.
