The Gospel According to Dolly Parton: A Summer Series at SALT

The Gospel According to Dolly Parton: A Summer Series at SALT
Begins Saturday, July 5th at 5PM

At SALT United Methodist, we believe that the Gospel is alive and speaks through more than just the pages of scripture—it shows up in unexpected places, unexpected people, and sometimes even in rhinestones.

That’s why we’re so excited to kick off our summer sermon series: The Gospel According to Dolly Parton.

Starting Saturday, July 5th at our new worship time—5:00 PM—we’ll dive deep into the spiritual themes woven throughout Dolly’s music and life. Each week, we’ll pair one of her songs with scripture to explore topics like grace, justice, inclusion, humility, and hope.

You don’t need a big wig or a country drawl to feel the Spirit moving—just an open heart and a willingness to hear the Good News in a fresh, twangy way.

Dolly has long been a voice for the outsider, a beacon of kindness, and a woman of deep (if unconventional) faith. Whether it’s her fierce compassion, her unapologetic authenticity, or her ability to say hard things with a soft voice—there’s a Gospel lesson in there for all of us.

This is a perfect time to invite a friend—especially someone who’s curious about faith but maybe hesitant about church. SALT is the kind of place where we take Jesus seriously, but not ourselves. And this series is a great way to experience the joy, depth, and inclusiveness of our community.

So mark your calendars, cue up some Dolly on your playlist, and come on down to SALT on Saturday nights at 5pm. Because as Dolly says, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.”

See you there, y’all.
